Final spoilers for Angel 5.22
These are from the press screener tape.

The full, detailed summary is here. In this entry, I'm only reporting changes from the script.

Cuts I noticed:

At the end of the first Wesley/Illyria scene, right after he gives his truth/illusion/Watcher speech, her line "You are not an inspirational person like me" has been cut. Pity.

In the Angel/Connor coffeeshop scene, Angel's line "There's no fur...I would never...fur" is cut, as are the last few lines about Angel's manly penmanship. (The scene ends after Connor calls Angel a girl. Which still works, but damnit, all of Eve's scenes are left intact, and Connor and Wes get lines cut? So cruel.)

Comments:

ALL the performances are top notch on this one. Everyone hits their scenes absolutely out of the park. Spike reading his poetry is AWESOME, (and for me to say that really means something). Wes and Illyria made me cry a lot. Angel and Lindsey's love is so canon. Hamilton is so very, very tall and sparkly-eyed.

It does seem as if Angel orders Lorne to kill Lindsey. It's not ever directly addressed, but it does feel as if that's what we're meant to believe.

The soundtrack was too rough for me to comment on pacing. It felt a bit rushed, but sound mix makes all the difference in the world where that's concerned, so I wouldn't worry.

Dangit
They should not have cut the Illyria line.

I can't believe it...one more day and it'll be over.

Re: Dangit
I totally agree -- it was such a great bookend to the scene, and now I feel like it's unbalanced. Of course, it won't play that way to unspoiled people, but still. Isn't it all about me?

I actually didn't have an issue with Eve's last two scenes, but if they could've cut down on the bit with Lindsey to at least let in Illyria's last line, that would have been just beautiful.

Eve's characterization finally worked for me, but, uh, yeah, I'm supposed to feel sorry for her because she's so totally tangential to everything (Lindsey's lines could take her seriously, but the way CK plays it he has about as much attachment to her as he would to a pet puppy) and yet I still don't care.

Thank you for posting about the cut bits!

Oh, I think Eve's characterization was fine, I just don't care. I care about Connor and Wes.

Angel Spoilers
Angel definitely ordered Lorne to kill Lindsay, otherwise he couldn't have known that Lindsay wasn't coming back as he told Eve. It's a pity, I thought it was cool that Lorne acted of his on volition at the time.

About the episode
"At the end of the first Wesley/Illyria scene, right after he gives his truth/illusion/Watcher speech, her line "You are not an inspirational person like me" has been cut."

It was actually there, because I was looking for it after reading the original spoiler script for the first time. They just did such a rapid transition that it kind of got lost.

Finale
The Finale was good, overall. I was glad Illyria finished off Wesley's murderer, lol! That kicked A$$!!

final episode
There were a lot of great scenes in the final episode, but I really feel the way it ended was a rip-off and very frustrating. At the very least they could have allowed viewers to witness the final battle that Angel, Spike, Illyria, and Gunn took part in. To me it felt like they built up to a very very important scene and then it just ended. It seemed to me that another full episode was merited to really rap things up. It was like getting to the end of a great book and then someone has ripped the last ten pages out.
Also did you notice that after he has signed away his right to the sanshu prophecy he talks to Harmony and asks her if she remembers what it was like to be human and says something like it was a very long time ago for him. But very early on in the series there was an episode where Buffy came to visit him and he ends up being human for a whole day, he eats ice cream, has sex with Buffy without fear of the "perfect happiness" curse, etc., but decides at the end of the episode that his true purpose (to fight evil) cannot be done as a human and so the powers that be change him back with no one remembering the day he was human except Angel. In the last episode he seems to have forgotten about this experience.
Overall I felt the last episode was a ripoff and a terrible way to end the series.
